I've been wearing an original Swiss Army watch for more than 20 years, and have always liked the utilitarian look of the leather and nylon band. But if you are active and tend to get dirty or sweathy, they don't last all that long.
One of the difficulties in replacing the band is getting the right length. Listing a band by watch model number is useless. There is no model number on the watch, and who keeps the paperwork for the several years it takes the band to give out? So ordering was a crapshoot. I got lucky this time, but that doesn't always happen.
The leather and nylon on this band are noticeably lighter weight than the original, so I don't know how long it will last. One of the two keepers that hold the strap doesn't stay in place, but that's typical.
These bands used to come with the little tool you need to remove the pins that hold the band. This one didn't, which made changing the band harder that it needed to be.

I bought this band believing it was the actual Victorinox original watchmaker band.
I was mistaken. At first, I thought of the CNBC special on counterfeit merchandise, but that isn't the case with this band. This band is simply a replacement in fit and overall appearance.
The leather on my band was not finished the way the original was, and I don't like it that well.
It fits the watch perfectly, and comes with the watchband pins.
The buckle seems to be pretty good.
I just don't like the finish of the leather.
